The Buy and Hold strategy is an investor's understanding of property appreciation, leverage, and compounding wealth- and combining the three.  They know that property values have always gone up, and will continue to go up. They  use leverage to hold as many of these appreciating assets as possible over time. In doing so, they are compounding their wealth, as they are not selling the properties.  As time goes on, their investments grow like snowballs, in larger and larger chunks and under constant acceleration.
